Kerlink Wirnet iBTS Compact | Outdoor 16-Channel Carrier-Grade LoRaWAN Gateway
Beschreibung
The Kerlink Wirnet iBTS Compact is a robust, high-performance carrier-grade outdoor LoRaWAN® gateway built for the most demanding public and private IoT networks. Engineered for harsh environments with powerful processing, a secure design, and advanced remote-monitoring options, it's trusted by public operators, MVNOs, utilities, and enterprises that need stability, availability, and reliability at scale.
The Compact version is the perfect turnkey solution: a light, compact form factor with built-in mono- or dual-WAN backhaul and integrated antennas for GPS and 2G/3G/4G cellular. Fully compatible with LoRa-native sensor geolocation, it pairs long-range coverage with location services — all managed remotely through Kerlink's Wanesy™ platform.
Core Capabilities
Carrier-Grade LoRa Radio Built on Semtech Reference Design v2 with built-in high-rejection filters and out-band radio scanners (spectrum-analysis compliant). Rx sensitivity down to −141 dBm (SF12) and Tx power configurable from 5 to 30 dBm. LoRa-Native Geolocation Full compatibility with LoRa-native sensor geolocation (TDOA), with integrated GPS — locate assets without GPS chips in the end devices, ideal for tracking and smart-city deployments. Turnkey Integrated Backhaul A compact form factor with built-in mono- or dual-WAN backhaul and integrated GPS and 2G/3G/4G cellular antennas — simplifying outdoor installation with minimal external hardware. Secure & Resilient SecureBoot (signed firmware), SecureStorage via ProvenCore™, OpenVPN/IPsec backhaul protection, and watchdog recovery. Backup batteries ensure a clean application shutdown during a power cut.Typical Applications
• Public & Private Networks: Carrier-grade coverage for operators, MVNOs, utilities, and public authorities deploying scalable LoRaWAN networks. • Asset Tracking & Geolocation: Locate LoRa devices without on-board GPS using the gateway's native geolocation support. • Smart Cities & Metering: Reliable, dense outdoor coverage for lighting, parking, waste, water, and energy networks. • Remote & Off-Grid Sites: DC/solar power input and backup batteries keep coverage running where mains power is unreliable.Technical Integration
The iBTS Compact integrates into carrier-grade outdoor LoRaWAN networks:
• Architecture: Semtech Reference Design v2 with embedded Base Station Controller and Radio Network Controller for remote operations. • RF tools: Listen Before Talk (LBT) sniffer and out-band radio scanners for live spectrum monitoring. • Power: PoE (30 W, 48 V DC Class 4) or DC input 11–56 V (e.g. solar), with ignition detection and an ON/OFF button; backup batteries guard against power cuts. • Management: EU868; managed via the Kerlink Wanesy™ Management Plane (NPMD) and Management Center. Operates −40 °C to +60 °C. • Accessories: PoE injectors, the LoRa antenna, and power accessories are sold separately. • Setup help: Talk to the shopioT technical team for configuration, geolocation, or LNS setup.Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between iBTS Compact and Standard?
The Compact is a turnkey, light form factor with built-in mono/dual-WAN backhaul and integrated GPS + cellular antennas. The Standard adds modularity and antenna diversity for even greater Rx/Tx scalability.
Can it locate devices without GPS chips?
Yes — it's fully compatible with LoRa-native geolocation (TDOA), so end devices can be located by the network without their own GPS.
How is it powered?
By Power-over-Ethernet (30 W, 48 V DC Class 4) or DC input 11–56 V (e.g. solar). Backup batteries allow a clean shutdown during power cuts. PoE/power accessories are sold separately.
What backhaul does it use?
Built-in mono- or dual-WAN backhaul with an integrated 2G/3G/4G cellular modem and Ethernet, for resilient connectivity.
How is it managed?
Remotely via Kerlink's Wanesy™ Management Plane and Management Center, with embedded BSC/RNC functions, secure boot, and encrypted backhaul.
